Watch: Cubs Prospect Blasts Home Run for Team Canada in WBC
USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Cubs have multiple players competing for different countries in this year's World Baseball Classic. On Sunday, one stood out amongst the rest in the early goings of the group stage.

Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie, who is just 20 years old and has only reached High-A baseball, blasted a huge home run for Team Canada when playing against Team Great Britain.

Caissie then proceeded to sprint around the bases following his huge hit.

It's encouraging to see the club's 13th-ranked prospect getting some time in at the international level and making the most of it.

Caissie will likely start the season with High-A South Bend again, but this experience could help in his development while giving him the opportunity to compete on a pressure-filled stage.
