Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin is one of the most influential racers in the NASCAR garage. Since his debut 2005, he has always been a contender for race wins and championship in the top-tier of stock car racing. While he was able to amass over 53 wins in his career, a championship still remains a dream for him.

His charges have often ended with a mistake or an unfortunate incident on the final race. It can said that Denny Hamlin took over the place of Mark Martin as the unluckiest championship contender in the grid. Till the No:11 Toyota driver over took him, Martin was the driver with the most Cup win without a Cup title.

Recently the Hall of Famer was featured in the Rubbin is Racing podcast and he discussed the status Hamlin has in the sport. He asserted that the 23XI Racing co-owner even if he never wins a title would go down as one of the greatest in the history books. Hamlin has still has a lot to offer to the sport and will have a lot more chances to secure that championship.

He is one of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time, and whether or not he wins the championship doesn't, you know, change the fact that he has done an amazing things. Mark Martin said via Rubbin is Racing podcast.

Mark Martin hate to see Denny Hamlin without a Cup title

Before giving the greatest ever verdict Mark Martins discussed how tough is now for Denny Hamlin to win the championship. He pointed out that with one race now dictating the whole championship picture nowadays, it would be really hard ford the JGR driver to win one.

I would like to see Denny Hamlin win it, but I think it's a tall order with the format as it is especially you just pretty much have to win the last race, and that's a lot to ask from anyone. I just hate for him to have to endure all that. He ain’t got no Cup, you know. That's just so ridiculous. The dude's got what 55 wins or something like that three Dayona 500; he's won everything. Mark Martin said.

Denny Hamlin has the chance to end his streak in the 2024 season as he is fine form going this season. He so far has won twice this season and with JGR consistently fielding faster cars more wins might be incoming for the No:11 team.
